Love to Give Senior Program

* * *

All too often senior dogs end up in shelters or abandoned when their owners can no longer care for them, and other family members are unable or uninterested in taking on their care.  These dogs are often sick and in pain with medical issues that have never been addressed. Once those conditions have been properly treated, these dogs always have so much love and appreciation left to give to the humans who do care for them.

The biggest concern most people have when adopting a senior dog is the expense providing the medications and special diets they need to flourish.  In order to assist these dogs, Kindred Spirits has created the Love to Give Senior Program where we match senior dogs with these very special caretakers. These people have the ability to care for them and love them while the rescue picks up the tab for their medical care.

This is an extremely rewarding program but can also be extremely expensive to maintain.  All of our seniors get the best care that we can possibly give them. No expense is spared. Please consider supporting our senior program by sponsoring one of the dogs shown below.  Indicate which dog you would like to sponsor as a note with your donation (click the link or visit our Donate page directly).

There is an Indian legend which says:
"When a human dies there is a bridge they must cross to enter into heaven. At the head of that bridge waits every animal that human encountered during their lifetime.

The animals, based upon what they know of this person, decide which humans may cross the bridge...and which are turned away."

Mitzy

Mitzy is an approx 12 year old ShihTzu. She is a beautiful girl who has had a rough life and therefore has trust issues with humans. She has a bite history and cannot be adopted out. She will spend her days in permanent foster care where she has only just begun to trust her loving foster mom. She has to be sedated for grooming and routine exams and bloodwork, and will remain in our care.
